AUTO-LEVELER

Controls

• Target−36 to −6 dB — Average (RMS) level the leveler steers toward.
• Speed100 to 5000 ms — How quickly the gain moves toward the target.
• Max Boost0 to 24 dB — Largest boost allowed.
• Max Cut0 to 24 dB — Largest cut allowed.
• Gate−80 to −30 dB — Below this level the gain holds instead of boosting pauses and room noise.

Best uses

• Evening out dialogue and podcast levels
• Riding inconsistent vocal takes
• Smoothing level changes in live recordings
• Pre-leveling before compression

Properties

Input → stereo RMS detection (~300 ms) → gain target (Target − level, limited by Max Boost/Cut, frozen below Gate) → smoothed at Speed → Output. Zero latency.
