The same music with the Mains Clean 50 Hz preset and without the plugin. Switch while it plays.

Controls

  • Frequency50 Hz / 60 Hz — Mains frequency of the hum: 50 Hz (Europe, most of the world) or 60 Hz (Americas, parts of Asia)
  • Harmonics1 to 8 — Number of notches: the fundamental and its multiples (1 = fundamental only, 8 = up to the 8th harmonic)
  • Q5 to 100 — Notch width as Q: bandwidth = frequency / Q, so higher values cut narrower and leave more of the music
  • Depth0 to 60 dB — How deep each notch cuts, from 0 (off) to 60 dB
  • Fine−2 to +2 Hz — Fine tune of the mains frequency in Hz (±2), for hum that sits slightly off 50/60 Hz; the harmonics follow
  • Low CutOff / 20 Hz / 30 Hz / 40 Hz — Optional 24 dB/oct high-pass below the hum (20, 30 or 40 Hz) to clear rumble

Best uses

  • Remove ground-loop hum from guitar, bass and DI recordings
  • Clean buzz from field recordings, interviews and podcasts
  • Repair old tapes and vinyl transfers with mains hum
  • Tidy hum on vintage synths and noisy amp recordings
  • Clear subsonic rumble along with the hum

Properties
