The same music with the Master Safety preset and without the plugin. Switch while it plays.

Controls

  • ModeLimiter / Clipper / Brickwall — Limiter = look-ahead limiting; Clipper = soft clipping with no delay; Brickwall = look-ahead with instant gain drop.
  • Threshold−30 to 0 dB — Drive control: a signal at Threshold comes out at the Ceiling, so lower values push harder.
  • Ceiling−6 to −0.1 dB — Maximum output level.
  • Release0 to 1000 ms — How fast the gain recovers after a peak.
  • Lookahead0 to 10 ms — How far ahead peaks are detected (ignored in Clipper mode).
  • True PeakOff / On — True Peak: the limiter reacts to the peaks between the samples (4x, ITU-R BS.1770), so the output stays under Ceiling in dBTP as streaming services ask; adds 6 samples of latency. Limiter and Brickwall only.
  • ListenOutput / Delta — Listen: Output plays the result; Delta plays only what the limiter or clipper takes away.

Best uses

  • Peak protection on the master bus
  • Transparent loudness gain in mastering
  • Soft clipping for drums and transient-heavy material
  • Catching stray peaks on individual tracks

Properties

Input → drive (Ceiling − Threshold) → Limiter/Brickwall: held peak detector + delayed signal + gain, followed by a safety clamp at Ceiling; Clipper: smooth knee from 70% of Ceiling → Output. Stereo-linked; latency equals Lookahead (0 in Clipper mode) and is reported for delay compensation.
