The same music with the Light Shuffle preset and without the plugin. Switch while it plays.

Controls

  • PatternStraight / Shuffle / Reverse Pairs / Stutter / Backspin / Random — How the previous bar's slices are rearranged: Straight keeps the order, Shuffle swaps the picked slices among themselves, Reverse Pairs plays picked pairs backwards as one piece, Stutter repeats the slice before, Backspin rewinds the audio like a turntable, Random plays any slice.
  • Variation0 to 100% — Chance that each slice is picked by the Pattern (0% = the bar plays in order, 100% = every slice is changed).
  • Seed1 to 999 — Number that sets every random choice (1 to 999): the same Seed always gives the same pattern, and it stays the same every bar.
  • Slices8 / 16 / 32 — How many equal slices the bar is cut into: 8 (eighth notes), 16 (sixteenths) or 32.
  • Reverse Chance0 to 100% — Chance that a slice plays backwards.
  • Repeat Chance0 to 100% — Chance that a slice is retriggered, playing its first half twice.
  • Gate0 to 100% — Length of each slice (100% = full); lower values cut every slice short with a fade for a choppy, gated feel.
  • Mix0 to 100% — Blend of sliced and dry signal.

Best uses

  • Live breakbeat-style rearrangements of drum loops
  • Stutter and repeat fills at the end of a phrase
  • Reversed and backspun variations of vocals and synth lines
  • Choppy gated rhythms from pads and chords
  • Repeatable random remixes: change the Seed until one grooves

Properties

Signal chain: Input → two bar buffers (4 beats at the host tempo, one recording while the other plays) → previous bar cut into 8/16/32 slices → slice order and per-slice reverse, repeat (first half twice) and backspin from Pattern, Variation and the chances, all drawn from a Park-Miller generator seeded by Seed → Gate shortens each slice → 2.5 ms fades at every cut (slices that continue the audio seamlessly are not faded) → Mix with the dry signal → Output. The output runs one bar behind (a musical delay, not reported as latency); until the first bar is recorded the input passes through. While the transport plays the bar is locked to the song position; stopped, it free-runs at the host tempo (40 to 300 bpm, 4/4).
