  • Step 16Off / Repeat / Reverse / Filter / Gate / Tape Stop / Pitch Down / Pitch Up / Crush — Effect on step 16 (same choices as Step 1)
  • Step Length1/8 / 1/16 / 1/32 / 1/8T / 1/16T — Note value of one step at the host tempo: 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 or the triplets 1/8T and 1/16T; while the transport plays the steps lock to the bar grid, stopped they free-run at the tempo (120 BPM without one).
  • Steps1 to 16 — Length of the sequence (1 to 16 steps); the steps past it are skipped and the pattern loops sooner.
  • Swing0 to 75% — Delays every second step for a shuffle feel (0% = straight, 50% = triplet shuffle, 75% = dotted).
  • Repeat Size1/16 / 1/32 / 1/64 — Slice length the Repeat steps loop (the first slice of the step plays, then repeats) and the rate the Gate steps chop at.
  • Filter200 to 8000 Hz — Cutoff of the resonant low-pass on Filter steps (200 Hz to 8 kHz); it glides down on entry and opens back up on exit.
  • Crush0 to 100% — Amount of the Crush steps: bit depth from 16 down to 4 bits and sample-rate reduction down to 1/16.
  • Pitch1 to 12 semitones — Interval of the Pitch Down and Pitch Up steps (1 to 12 semitones).
  • Mix0 to 100% — Blend of the processed and the dry signal.
  • MIDI TriggerOff / On — On: the sequencer stops and held MIDI notes choose the effect instead (C3 Repeat, C#3 Reverse, D3 Filter, D#3 Gate, E3 Tape Stop, F3 Pitch Down, F#3 Pitch Up, G3 Crush); all MIDI passes through.

Best uses

  • Stutter and repeat builds into a drop
  • Glitchy drum grooves with reverse, crush and pitch hits
  • Tape stops and reversed swells at the end of a phrase
  • Rhythmic filter chops on pads and loops
  • Playing effects live from MIDI pads with MIDI Trigger

Properties

Signal chain: Input → 4 s history buffer → 16-step sequencer (or held MIDI notes C3 to G3) → two crossfading effect voices (Repeat, Reverse, Gate, Tape Stop, Pitch Down/Up via a 60 ms two-tap delay-line shifter) → resonant TPT state-variable low-pass (Filter steps, 15 ms cutoff glide) → bit and sample-rate reduction (Crush steps) → Dry/Wet Mix → Output. The step clock follows the host tempo and, while the transport plays, is read from the song position; stopped it free-runs at the tempo (120 BPM without one). Every change of effect crossfades over 4 ms, so steps switch without clicks. Fully deterministic, zero latency; MIDI passes through.
