SURROUND PANNER
Mono or Stereo into 5.1, 7.1, 7.1.4
Controls
Best uses
- Place a stereo music stem or a mono effect in a 5.1 or 7.1 mix
- Put pads, ambiences and flyovers above the listener in 7.1.4
- Keep dialogue in the centre, or make it phantom
- Feed the LFE from a bass or an effect
Properties
Pairwise power-normalised VBAP on the ear-level ring (speakers as ITU-R BS.775 / BS.2051: L/R at 30 degrees, 5.1 surrounds at 110, 7.1 sides at 90 and rears at 150, tops at 45 and 135 degrees, elevation 45). Elevation crossfades the power from the ear level to the tops. A mono source with Spread is seven points with their powers averaged, so its level stays the same. The LFE send is a 4th-order Linkwitz-Riley low-pass at 120 Hz. The gains glide over about 20 ms. No latency. Twelve output pins: in REAPER set the track to 12 channels and route the pins to your bed. The player on this site plays pins 1 and 2 only.
