Controls

• LearnOff / On — While On, averages the noise per frequency into a profile: play a noise-only passage, then switch Off
• AutoOff / On — Tracks the noise floor continuously (minimum statistics) instead of a learnt profile
• Reduction0 to 60 dB — Maximum attenuation of the noise (the gain floor)
• Threshold−10 to +20 dB — How far above the noise estimate a sound must rise to pass untouched
• Smoothing0 to 100% — Smoothing over time and across frequency against musical noise artefacts
• Attack0 to 100 ms — How fast the gain opens when a sound rises above the noise
• Release10 to 1000 ms — How fast the gain closes back to the floor
• ListenOutput / Removed noise — Hear the cleaned output or only the removed noise
• Mix0 to 100% — Dry/wet blend

Best uses

• Remove tape and preamp hiss
• Clean room tone and air-conditioning rumble from dialogue
• Tame a hum or buzz bed under guitars
• Lower the noise floor of field and home recordings

Properties

Signal chain: Input → 2048-Point FFT (4× overlap, Hann) → Noise Estimate (Learnt Profile or Auto Minimum Statistics) → Wiener-Like Gain with Floor → Time + Frequency Smoothing → Attack/Release → IFFT Overlap-Add → Mix → Output. One gain for both channels; latency 2047 samples (reported). The learnt profile lives in memory and is not saved with the project: learn again after a reload, or use Auto.
