Controls

  • FFT Size1024 / 2048 / 4096 / 8192 / 16384 — Number of samples in each analysis frame: larger sizes resolve low frequencies more finely but react more slowly.
  • Slope0 to 6 dB/oct — Tilts the display around 1 kHz so a balanced mix looks flat: 0 is a plain FFT, 3 dB/oct suits pink-noise-like material, 4.5 dB/oct is a common mixing reference.
  • Release0 to 2000 ms — How quickly the curve falls after a peak; rises are instant. 0 shows every frame as it is.
  • Range60 dB / 80 dB / 100 dB / 120 dB — Lowest level on the display, below 0 dB at the top.
  • Peak HoldOff / 2 s / Infinite — Keeps a second, thinner curve at the highest level each frequency reached: for 2 s, or until the setting changes (Infinite).
  • ChannelMid / Left / Right / Side — Signal analysed: Mid (L+R)/2, Left, Right or Side (L−R)/2.
  • MonitorStereo / Solo — Stereo passes the audio through untouched (bit-exact). Solo plays the analysed channel on both outputs, e.g. to listen to the side signal.

Best uses

  • Spotting resonances and build-ups while mixing
  • Comparing the tonal balance of a mix with a reference
  • Checking low-end content and sub-bass on small speakers
  • Inspecting the side signal for stereo problems

Properties

Chosen channel → Hann window → FFT (1024 to 16384 points) every 25 ms → per-bin power, instant rise and adjustable release, optional peak hold → log-frequency display 20 Hz to 20 kHz with slope around 1 kHz. Audio passes through unchanged (Monitor Solo is a listening aid). Zero latency. The plain JSFX only analyses; the GFX, VST3 and CLAP versions draw the spectrum.
