CROSSFEED
Headphone Crossfeed and Speaker Simulation
Controls
Best uses
- Mixing on headphones with less in-the-head fatigue
- Checking the stereo image as it would sound on speakers
- Long listening sessions on headphones
- Hearing hard-panned parts as a speaker listener would
Properties
Crossfeed: libbs2b's filter: the other side through a first-order low pass at Cutoff, Feed dB down in the lows; the own side through a matching high boost; a mono signal keeps its level in the lows and loses up to 2 dB in the highs. Speakers: Brown-Duda head-shadow filters for the near and the far ear (their high-frequency gains scaled so a mono signal keeps its level on average), Woodworth's interaural time on the far ear (0.26 ms at 30 degrees), each ear half of each; Room adds six early reflections per ear (4 to 22 ms, low passed at 5 kHz). Then Mix and Output. No latency.
